PROBLEMS WITH LANGUAGE
When you are separated from someone by 3,000 miles and she no longer knows who you are it becomes so abstract that you must try make sense of the changes. Every now and then you get photographs and make drawings, and discover that her hair has grown long! And just like her father, and plants too, she has senesced. The cells have lost their power to divide and grow. (Peter)

KITCHEN SPIRITS
A friend’s mask of uncertain origin inspired these heads. Perhaps a forest spirit or guardian from ________? Certainly not malevolent devils, these two heads now watch us from the eaves of our outdoor kitchen. (Peter)

A selection of ceramic heads from 2018 to the present. Many of these have been placed in the woods up at our land in the Sierras, and others are in private collections. (Peter)
