COVID & ME SERIES
The Covid & Me series started as the Covid–19 pandemic began to spread rapidly and Governor Newsom declared a shelter in place order. In my studio I had paper, ink, water colors, pencils and some old children’s dictionaries, and the radio. Each day there were reports of the growing epidemic, racial injustice, police brutality, raging fires, floods, and evidence of the rise of fascism.
I started drawing. I was the most available subject. While listening to the radio, and going through the children’s dictionaries, I found words, definitions and illustrations to collage my own feelings about the growing chaos.
