On April 6th Lauri and I spent the afternoon walking around the bulb. We found several new sculptures: An amazing samurai, a painter and a fisherman. Many of the paths seemed wider than before, there has been some clearing going on and more of the rubble is visible. The Sniff paintings are falling apart. They have been busted up and covered with tags and paint.

A visit to the Bulb earlier this year. JBS was visiting from Maine. The Bulb can be a good place to see shorebirds so she brought her binoculars. Lots of clearing had been going on, and a section of the neck is now fenced off for “Owl Habitat Restoration”. Some great new sculptures by Osha Neuman.

The Albany Bulb as it was in March of 2003. Sniff paintings were still quite vibrant. Jeff & Tracey just moved from Maine to Oakland and they joined us for a hike around the bulb.

This was our first visit to the Albany Bulb. At this time the colors on the plywood paintings done by Sniff were fresh. (Although, one would hardly know it from these raw jpegs, taken in the days before the purchase of a megapixel camera.) I also seem remember that there was a punching bag handing from a tree with a picture of the Pope attached to it … You could get your shots in if you needed to.

A visit to the Albany Bulb in Albany, CA in April 2007. On this day we walked all around the entire edge of the Bulb. A beautiful day with many flowers in bloom.
